A 14-year-old driving a vehicle carrying five other youths led police on a chase Tuesday that ended with a crash in central Alabama, authorities said.
State troopers on Interstate 65 tried to stop a Ford Expedition sport-utility vehicle that had been reported stolen but the driver refused to pull over, Cpl. Jeremy Burkett told WSFA-TV.
A chase continued into the city of Prattville north of Montgomery, and the SUV slammed into two other vehicles at an intersection.
A 14-year-old who was allegedly driving was charged with attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, assault, receiving stolen property and speeding, Burkett said. Five other juveniles also were in the vehicle, he said: An 11-year-old, a 12-year-old, two 13-year-olds and another 14-year-old.
Authorities didn’t say whether anyone was injured, and the name of the driver and passengers were not released because of their ages.
