The Alabama inmate who escaped early Saturday was back in custody that afternoon after his family told U.S. Marshals where he was located.

Danny Ray Tucker escaped the Hamilton Community Based Facility in Marion County at approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

He was serving a 20-year prison sentence for property theft.

He was recaptured at approximately 1:30 p.m., the state reported.
