Alabama high school football quarterback dies following head injury during game

An Alabama high school student has died from a brain injury he sustained during a football game Friday night, school officials and the boy’s family have confirmed.
Morgan Academy’s Caden Tellier, 16, was injured Friday night in Selma, Alabama, as his team played Southern Academy. He was Morgan Academy’s quarterback.
Tellier was injured int he third-quarter and was airlifted to UAB, officials said.
Tellier’s family confirmed his death in a post shared on social media Saturday.
“Our boy, Caden Tellier has met Jesus face to face. We appreciate all of your prayers, and we covet them for the hard days ahead. Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity and love, and true to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time. Lives have been touched by the way he lived and now lives will be saved through his passing. We will walk out these next few days alongside him in his earthly body knowing that his spirit is rejoicing in heaven.”
The school said it would cancel all athletic activities next week.
