Alabama man killed when his Harley-Davidson strikes deer, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed early Tuesday when the motorcycle he was operating struck a deer, causing the man to be thrown from the motorcycle, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:37 a.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Phenix City, Alabama, man.

Tyler S. Smith. 28, was fatally injured with the 2022 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle he was operating struck a deer.

Smith was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Lee County 254 near U.S. 280, approximately seven miles east of Opelika, in Lee County.
