State and local first responders were searching Saturday morning for a person who disappeared in an Alabama lake, state police said.

At approximately 8:25 a.m. Saturday, a person went missing on Lake Neely Henry near Canoe Creek Road and U.S. 411, southwest of the Rainbow City community in Etowah County, officials with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

Troopers with the ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division as well as ALEA’s Aviation Unit were in the area Saturday morning assisting with the search.

ALEA Marine Patrol Troopers will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
