An Alabama man was killed Monday when his pickup truck veered off the road and struck a tree, Alabama state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Monday, and claimed the life of a Hodges, Alabama, man.

Daniel D. Hicks, 63, was fatally injured when the 2000 Toyota Tacoma he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Hicks was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 187 near Marion County 184, approximately three miles south of Hodges, in Marion County.
