Alabama teen killed after SUV collides with tree, state troopers say

An Alabama teen was killed early Saturday when the teen’s vehicle struck a tree and flipped over, state trooper said.

The single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7 a.m. Saturday, July 20, and claimed the life of an Oneonta, Alabama, teen.

The 18-year-old was critically injured when the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 1500 the youth was driving left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

The teen was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The juvenile later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased on Friday, July 26.

The crash occurred on Blount County 1, approximately 1 mile south of Oneonta, in Blount County.
