Over the weekend, a tragic shooting at a Mississippi bar claimed the life of 24-year-old Brandon Michael Cartwright from Fruitdale, Alabama. The incident occurred in Wayne County around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, according to WDAM in Hattiesburg.

Wayne County Deputy Coroner Blake Kelly identified Cartwright as the victim. The Waynesboro Police Department is currently investigating the shooting. Reports indicate that the suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a tan sports utility vehicle.

As the investigation continues, Cartwright’s family has created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral expenses for their loved one.
