An Alabama man has been charged with murder after authorities say a dead body was found apparently shot to death.

Kevin Chase, 65, of Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested Monday and charged with murder, Montgomery polise said.

The investigation started just before 1 p.m. Monday when police were called to a report of a body found in the 2100 block of Plum Street.

The identification of the body was not released pending notification of his family.

It was not immediately clear what led police to identify Chase as the suspect.
