An Alabama man and woman have been charged with intentionally burning the woman’s 10-month-old baby, police said Friday.

Kaliyah B. Vaughn and Brynt J. Taylor were indicted by the Lauderdale County Grand Jury, following an incident in May 2023, in which Vaughn’s 10-month-old baby sustained serious burns.

The baby suffered second-degree burns on both feet and third-degree burns on the back.

Concerned about possible abuse, doctors at NAMC contacted the police.

After an investigation was conducted, the case was presented to the Grand Jury.

On Wednesday, Vaughn and Taylor were arrested and charged with assault-torture/willful abuse of a child.
