An accident with a school bus on an Alabama highway has left one person dead, authorities said.

The accident happened Thursday morning on Alabama 40, east of Henagar, officials with the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency reported.

The bus involved was from the DeKalb County School District. No students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

Exactly what happened to cause the wreck was not immediately clear.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was fatally injured, officials said.

The driver of the school sustained minor injuries.
