Alabama man hid fentanyl inside Easter eggs, sheriff’s deputies say

An Alabama man was arrested Monday after sheriff’s deputies said they found 176 fentanyl pills inside plastic Easter eggs in the man’s possession, along with a bag of synthetic cannabis.
The incident began at approximately 11:45 a.m. Monday when drug agents with the Colbert County Drug Task Force conducted at traffic stop on South Hook Street in Tuscumbia.
After speaking with the driver consent to search the vehicle was given.
The passenger was identified as Jamarious Dequan Qualls, 29, of Russellville.
Investigators discovered that Qualls had misdemeanor warrants for his arrest in the city of Sheffield.
During arrest agents located two plastic containers with 176 fentanyl pills inside and a plastic bag containing 1oz of “spice”synthetic cannabis.
Qualls was charged with drug trafficking and unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Qualls was being held in Colbert County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
