An investigation was begun Tuesday after a dead body was found along an Alabama road way, sheriff’s officials said.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Office investigators said the dead man was found near Highway 31 and Interstate 65 near Lacon on Tuesday.

Investigators said they hope a forensic examination will reveal the man’s identity and cause and manner of death.

The body was described only as a Hispanic male approximately 50 to 60 years old.

No other details about the body or the investigation were revealed.
