Alabama Skies: Rainy weather settling in for the week
Published 10:29 pm Sunday, January 21, 2024
Monday will be a cloudy one for Alabama as a system settles in the region that will pump plenty of Gulf moisture across the state.
Temperatures will be more seasonable, but we’ll still have some cold wind chills in the morning. We’ll remain above freezing across the state for the next several days, even at night.
We could have a few isolated showers in places overnight, but the main event begins Tuesday with showers likely through at least Thursday. Several inches of rain are possible.
Models are still hinting at a few strong storms possible, but this will be mainly a rain event. Flash flooding and river flooding could both become issues by midweek.
