A 19-year-old is dead after a reported invasion of an Alabama home.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports that the teen, who has not been identified, was shot during a reported home invasion in the 1300 block of Hearn Avenue in Bessemer.

The shooting reportedly occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The teen was pronounced dead just before 2:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of 8th Alley North.

The coroner’s office said the death is being investigated by the Bessemer Police Department as a homicide.
