Woman killed in early morning crash with trees, Alabama troopers report

A woman was killed early Saturday in Alabama when her vehicle veered off the road and struck two trees, state troopers reported.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of a Hephzibah, Georgia, woman.
Kaye Guess Mersier, 70, was fatally injured when the 2019 Nissan Murano she was driving left the roadway and struck two trees, Alabama state troopers said.
Mersier was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 82 near the 219 mile marker, approximately 7 miles east of Midway, in Barbour County.
