The body of an Alabama woman was found inside a burning home late Thursday night.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the victim has been identified, but that the identity of the 55-year-old woman was being withheld pending notification of the family.

Fire crews were called to the 4900 block of Lloyd Noland Parkway in Fairfield, Alabama, at approximately 10:55 p.m. Thursday.

After extinguishing the fire, firefighters found the body of the woman inside the residence.

The matter is being investigating by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.
