Alabama Skies: Plenty of clouds, but will our weather bring some rain?
Published 8:12 pm Thursday, October 12, 2023
We’ll have plenty of fog and clouds across much of Alabama Friday with the extremes in the north and south having a little sunshine break through. Although clouds will be in control, we’re only expecting a shower or two Friday and Friday night.
We’re watching models for Sean in the Atlantic Ocean. It’s expected to weaken, but some reliable models show the storm to strengthen again with a western track. It’s still several days away from the United States, but we’ll keep watching.
If you’re in the Birmingham area Saturday, the National Weather Service is having a fun event! An open house will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at 465 Weathervane Road in Calera, next to the Shelby County Airport. This event is free and open to the public. Things to do include a tour of our weather operations area, a weather balloon release, a mobile radar truck, emergency vehicles, kids booth and trick-or-treating, appearances by Owlie Skywarn and Sparky the Fire Dog, a weather radio raffle, food trucks, partner booths, and much more!
