Authorities identified a 27-year-old Alabama woman who was found dead in a jail cell Sunday night.

Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the woman was identified as Kristen Shae Gray, 27, of Pell City, Alabama.

Gray was found unresponsive at approximately 11:15 p.m. Sunday in the Trussville City Jail.

Gray had been arrested by the Leeds Police Department on an obstruction of justice charge after she reportedly gave officers a fake name to avoid being arrested for an earlier warrant from another county.

Yates said jail personnel found Gray unresponsive during a routine check.

Yates said the cause of her death is pending laboratory test results. He said investigators found no evidence of trauma or foul play.
