Alabama special education teacher charged with sending obscene video to student

An Alabama special education teacher was arrested Friday on charged he send an obscene video to a 17-year-old student.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they were alerted Wednesday to a video sent to a 17-year-old which started their investigation.
Investigators said they contacted Timothy Mark Wells, 36, of Phil Campbell, Alabama, the same night the investigation was begun.
Deputies say he admitted to sending the video. The Franklin County District Attorney’s office were advised of the evidence and warrants for Wells’ arrest were issued.
He turned himself in Friday morning and was awaiting an appearance before a judge to determine a possible bond.
Wells works as a teacher at Phil Campbell High School. The Franklin County School System said it placed Wells on leave.
There was no indication that the student to whom Wells sent the video was a special education student.
