An Alabama man was arrested and charged with stealing a police car from an airport early Saturday morning.

Officials with the Montgomery Regional Airport said Gabriel Zachariah Jones, 30, of Montgomery, was charged with stealing the police vehicle at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday.

Jones faces a charge of first-degree theft of property.

Prior to the arrest, airport officials were offering free tickets as an incentive for information leading to the police car thief.

The airport offered two first-class seats and free parking to any of the four nonstop destinations for anyone with details and information leading to an arrest.

It was not immediately clear if anyone had provided information to the police that led to the arrest.
