A naked woman covered in blood was arrested Sunday after she attacked a police officer who was called to help her, police said.

The incident happened in the small town of Powell, Alabama.

On Sunday, Powell police received a call from someone who said a female was nude and screaming at neighbors from her mobile home.

When officers arrived on the scene, they reported seeing multiple broken windows and blood covering the residence.

The officer then encountered the naked woman, later identified as Stacey Waldrep, of Section Alabama. The officer reported Waldrep was already covered in blood.

Waldrep was uncooperative and would not follow commands to stay back, police said.

As officers sought to retrieve medical supplies and gloves to tend to Waldrep from their patrol vehicle, police said Waldrep come up from behind an officer and began assaulting him, in the processing covering him with her blood.

After a struggle, she was subdued, covered in a blanket and arrested, police said. She was treated by paramedics on scene and ultimately taken to jail on a charge of felony assault on a police officer.
