An Alabama teen has been arrested for allegedly shooting a 16-year-old girl in the head on New Year’s Eve, a TV station reported Tuesday.

WTVM-TV reported that Phenix police arrested Jaheem Malik Chappell, 18, of Phenix City was charged with attempted murder.

Police said Chappell shot a 16-year-old girl in the head on December 31. The girl was hospitalized and reportedly remains in critical condition.
