A Pike County woman has been arrested after her ex-husband reported that she had stolen multiple vehicles from his property and sold them and their titles.

Chief Deputy Buck Williams said deputies arrested Jennifer McCall, 36, during the exchange of one of the vehicles and titles with a third party.

“Deputies got a call on December 7 from the victim that vehicles were being taken from his property on County Road 6631 near Josey,” Williams said. “His ex-wife was selling vehicles that were on the property they used to live on and he had not given her permission to do that. She had apparently been able to get the titles to the vehicles, which are not in her name, and sold them to a third party.”

Williams said the buyer of the stolen vehicles cooperated with law enforcement and returned the property to the victim once he was notified that the vehicles were not McCall’s to sell.

A total of four vehicles were stolen and recovered, Williams said: a 1989 Chevrolet S10, a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 4×4 and a 1978 Chevrolet Nova. Although the cars were not in running condition, Williams said the theft of any vehicle upgrades the theft charges automatically to first-degree theft of property.

Each charge is a Class B Felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison. McCall was booked into the Pike County Jail on a $20,000 bond, $5,00 for each charge.
