Alabama man dies after multi-car accident on Thanksgiving Day

An Alabama man has died after a Thanksgiving night wreck, Alabama state trooper said.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m. Thursday and claimed the life of a Pelham, Alabama, man.
Stuart J. Norwood Jr., 53, was fatally injured when the 2013 Dodge Durango, in which he was a passenger, struck the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 16-year-old of Opelika.
The 2013 Dodge Durango was driven by Emily B. Norwood, 48, also of Pelham.
After the initial impact, the Durango struck the 2005 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Jermaine E. Burks, 35, of Auburn. The Grand Cherokee struck an unoccupied 1991 GMC Suburban located on the side of the roadway.
The 16-year-old was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment.
Emily Norwood was transported to Piedmont Medical Center in Columbus, Ga.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Alabama 14 and Lee County 188 near the 213 mile marker, approximately three miles west of Auburn, in Lee County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
