A fire in an Alabama Walmart Sunday evening has temporarily closed the store until further notice.
An official from the Walmart in Selma released a statement on Monday, saying the store is temporarily closed until further notice.
The incident is the second fire to affect the store recently. Officials have not said if they suspect arson in the incident and have said the fire is under investigation.
“As an essential store to the community, our goal is to assess any damage and reopen as quickly as possible,” Walmart said in a statement.
According to Selma Fire Department interim Chief Franklin Edwards, the fire started around 5:45 p.m. Sunday evening and went over two aisles.
The fire apparently started in the craft section of the store, near the paper goods aisle. The store’s fire sprinklers put out the fire. No one was injured.
