Two Alabama men whose burned bodies were found last month inside a burned vehicle in the middle of the road have been positively identified, officials said Tuesday.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel found the burned bodies on morning of October 29 when they were called to extinguish a brush fire.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said Tuesday the victims were identified as Antonio Kasey James, 20, of Pinson, Alabama, and Ja’Calvin Demond Ball, 20, of Bessemer, Alabama.

The pair were found inside a vehicle in the 1600 block of 89th Avenue North, officials said.

Birmingham police are investigating the deaths as homicides.
