Americans will pay 20 cents less on average to fill up their tanks compared to the same time last year as they head off to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday this week.

“Ahead of Thanksgiving, motorists continue to be teased by the prospect of a $2.99 per gallon national average, a level now seen in 32 states,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.
