An Alabama teen was killed Saturday night when the dirt bike he was operating struck a pickup truck, state troopers said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 6:57 p.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of a Phenix City, Alabama, juvenile.

The 18-year-old was critically injured when the 2018 Kawasaki MX motorcycle (dirt bike) the teen was operating struck the 2018 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Kortney Ann Marie Carlisle, 31, of Phenix City.

The teen was transported to a local area hospital, where the youth succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Woodland Drive near Wiggins Lane, approximately one mile south of Phenix City, in Russell County.
