A 19-year-old Alabama man was found guilty Wednesday in the fentanyl overdose death of a 15-year-old Alabama girl.
Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood said Wednesday that Jackson Lewis was convicted of criminally negligent homicide and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (with the intent to distribute) for the 2022 death of 15-year-old Adrianna Taylor.
On August 30, 2022, Adrianna Taylor was found unresponsive due to a fentanyl overdose according to medical experts. During the two-day trial, Prosecutors with the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office provided evidence that Jackson Lewis gave Adrianna Taylor that fatal dose of fentanyl.
“The decision of a jury must be respected, no matter the outcome. My office will continue to try to have Jackson Lewis held fully accountable in his upcoming case for attempting to distribute a controlled substance to a different minor,” Blackwood said.
Sentencing for Jackson Lewis is set for 9 a.m. October 30.
