Alabama teen killed when ATV strikes tree, state troopers say

An Alabama teen was killed Friday afternoon when the ATV the teen was operating struck an embankment and then a tree, state troopers said.
The single-vehicle crash occurred involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) occurred at approximately 4 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a juvenile from Union Springs.
The 18-year-old teen was operating a Yamaha Raptor 700 when the ATV left the roadway struck an embankment and then a tree.
The teen was thrown from the ATV and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Boromville Road near Macon County 10, approximately 10 miles north of Hurtsboro, in Macon County.
