Alabama teen killed, three others injured including baby when car crashed into trees, state troopers say

An Alabama teen was killed early Thursday when the car in which he was riding left the road and struck several trees, state troopers reported.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:40 a.m. Thursday, and claimed the life of a Crossville, Alabama, teen.

The 18-year-old was fatally injured when the 2008 Mitsubishi Galant that the teen was a passenger in, left the roadway, struck a guardrail and multiple trees.

The juvenile was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, Maria D. Gonzales-Rodriguez, 19, and a second passenger, Maria Hernandez-Rodriguez, 58, both of Crossville, were injured and transported to TC Thompson Hospital, in Chattanooga, Tenn. for treatment.

A one-year-old passenger was also injured in the Mitsubishi. The infant was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on Alabama 68 near Dekalb County 192, approximately two miles west of Collinsville, in Dekalb County.
