Alabama authorities are investigating after an Alabama woman crossing the street was hit and killed.

Birmingham police are investigating a hit-and-run accident at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday on Princeton Avenue Southwest at Lomb Avenue.

The woman who was killed after being struck by a vehicle was identified as April Rosella Barton, 48, of Birmingham.

Birmingham police are investigating the circumstances and searching for the vehicle involved in the incident.
