Alabama man killed when SUV strikes ditch, flips over, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed Tuesday when his SUV struck a ditch and flipped over, state troopers reported.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Birmingham man.
James J. Rogers, 57, was fatally injured when the 2003 Ford Expedition he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.
Rogers was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near Alabama 67, approximately four miles north of Brooksville, in Blount County.
