Alabama state trooper among 11 men arrested after undercover child sex sting

An Alabama state trooper resigned after he was arrested on charges of trying to meet an underage child for sex.
Ryan Christian Rhodes, 26, who worked as a state trooper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency since 2020, was one of 11 men charged after an undercover sting conducted last week in Montgomery County, Alabama.
Also arrested include:
Dai Xing Chen, 45.
Subin Choi, 34.
James Clifford Grier, 44.
Michael Lynn Hester, 54.
James LeGregory McGhee, 47.
William Robert Ogburn Jr., 44.
Justin Gregory Tomberlin, 36.
Joseph Carroll Vasseur III, 38.
Owen Delma Walker Jr., 57.
Qu’Darrius D’arcy Ja’Quan White, 24.
They were arrested on charges of electronic solicitation of a child, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.
Rhodes was also charged with resisting arrest.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued the following statement regarding Rhodes:
Former Senior Trooper Ryan Rhodes resigned from his position with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) on Friday, Aug. 23. The resignation follows his arrest by deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for Electronic Solicitation of a Child, Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act and Resisting Arrest. The arrest is a result of an ongoing investigation led by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Any further inquiries regarding the arrest or investigation should be directed to the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office.
