Alabama man fleeing police killed when motorcycle strikes cars, tree

An Alabama man running from police was killed early Friday when his motorcycle struck two parked cars and then a tree, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:09 a.m. Friday, and claimed the life of an Ashford, Alabama, man.

Johenam Moises Fernandez Alvarez, 34, was fatally injured when the 2008 Suzuki GSX1300RK8 Hayabusa motorcycle he was operating left the roadway, struck a raised curb, two unoccupied parked vehicles, and a tree.

Fernandez Alvarez was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Before the crash occurred, Fernandez Alvarez was being pursued by deputies with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred on Houston County 55 near Alabama 52, approximately 12 miles east of Dothan, in Houston County.
