An Alabama man was killed Friday afternoon when the ATV he was operating flipped over, state police said.

The single-vehicle crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a Harvest, Alabama, man.

Jose N. Davila-Chavez, 30, was critically injured when the 2013 Polaris Sportsman ATV he was operating overturned.

Davila-Chavez was thrown from the ATV and transported by helicopter to Huntsville Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The crash occurred on Morgan Drive near Clovis Drive, approximately 12 miles east of Athens, in Limestone County.
