Two reported shark attacks within approximately two hours forced officials in Florida to close a section of beach.
Officials said the first attached occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. when deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office were called to a report of a woman being injured by a shark in the Gulf of Mexico near Watersound Way and Coopersmith Lane. The location was between Panama City Beach and Destin.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Her identify was not disclosed and her condition was not known.
Just over two hours later, deputies responded to a second reported attack, this time off an inlet beach off Shoreline Drive and involving a teenager.
As a precaution, officials said all the beaches in the county were closed.
