Two separate shark attacks Friday afternoon in a popular beach area of Florida left a woman and a teenage girl critically injured and another teen injured, authorities said.

The attacks were approximately 90 minutes apart, both in Walton County, officials said.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reported they were called to a private beach near Watersound at approximately 1:20 p.m. after a woman swimming with her husband was attacked. Authorities said she lost a hand in the attack and suffered additional severe trauma.

Just before 3 p.m. deputies were called to another shark attack off Shoreline Drive. In that attack two teenage girls were swimming together.

One of the teens was critically injured and was listed in critical condition. The other teen reportedly received minor wounds.
