Alabama man killed when metal road debris strikes his windshield, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed Monday after a piece of metal road debris struck his SUV, state troopers said.
Jason H. Fields, 41, of Gardendale, Alabama, was killed when the debris struck the windshield of his 2021 Ford Bronco. He was driving on Interstate 65, just south of Warrior at approximately 11 a.m.
Fields was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:15 a.m.
The source of the debris was not immediately clear.
State troopers described the debris as a small, metal beam that struck the victim’s windshield.
The beam had no markings, troopers said.
