Alabama man killed when pickup truck strikes tree, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed Friday when his pickup truck struck a tree, state troopers said.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a Montgomery man.
Jockey J. Howard, 36, was fatally injured when the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, troopers said.
Howard was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene, investigators said.
The crash occurred on Bullock County 37 near Salem Road, approximately 16 miles west of Union Springs, in Bullock County.
