An Alabama man was convicted of manslaughter Friday in a deadly 2020 collision he caused by speeding and running a red light.
A jury in Mobile County found Brennan Washam guilty of manslaughter Friday afternoon.
He was charged in the death of Mynkha Graham-Franklin, 24, who was killed 1 mile from her residence on the night of November 3, 2020, when Washam ran a red light while traveling 30 mph over the speed limit, prosecutors said. He collided with Graham-Franklin’s vehicle killing her.
“Mr. Washam acted completely reckless with no regard for human life that night,” Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood said. “He selfishly took the life of an innocent woman who had so much life left to live.”
He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 16.
