An Alabama car dealership was burglarized overnight Sunday with thieves reportedly stealing more than a $1 million in luxury vehicles along with 300 keys to other vehicles.
North Country Ford in Arab, Alabama, said the thieves apparently hit the dealership after midnight on Sunday. Local police along with the FBI are investigating.
A total of eight cars and trucks were taken including a high-end 2023 Dodge Challenger Demon, worth more than $150,000. Two of the eight vehicles that were taken have been found, police said.
The thieves entered the dealership’s building by throwing a rock through the the service department’s window. Then they reportedly disabled the dealership’s security cameras and erased hours of footage.
Dealership officials believe the burglars then were able to break into the safe used to house keys for vehicles on the lot and took all of the keys with them.
Investigators said the sophistication of the burglary indicated these were experienced thieves.
