Alabama woman killed when Harley-Davidson veers off road, strikes tree, state troopers say

An Alabama woman was killed Saturday when her Harley-Davidson motorcycle left the road, struck a ditch and then a tree, state troopers said.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Saturday, and claimed the life of a Florence, Alabama, woman.
Tammie J. Ivy, 54, was fatally injured when the 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle she was operating left the roadway, struck a ditch and then a tree. Ivy was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger on the Harley-Davidson, Richard B. Barnes, 59, of Leighton, was injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville for treatment.
The crash occurred on Lauderdale County 19 near Kimbrough Lane, approximately 10 miles west of Florence, in Lauderdale County.
