An Alabama man was arrested this week after police found a missing underage Georgia girl staying with the man.

Rafael Paredes Panameno, 22, was charged with two counts of second-degree rape, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a weapons charge.

A tip led to Alabaster police to find the girl and Panameno.

Police said the pair met on social media and began an inappropriate relationship.

“It’s extremely important to monitor your children’s online activities and contacts,” Alabaster Det. Charles Brower said. “We are beyond grateful to have located this juvenile and returned (her) to (her) family.”

The girl’s age was not disclosed.
