A 6-year-old Alabama boy has died after being struck by a car in the driveway, a coroner’s office confirmed Thursday.

Hunter Spanier, 6, of Center Point, Alabama, was identified as the child who was struct Tuesday evening at a residence on 27th Avenue in Center Point.

Spanier was taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment, Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said.

Spanier was pronounced dead late Wednesday night.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the matter.
