An Alabama city’s police department said Wednesday it was investigating a crime spree in which thieves took more than 100 stolen air conditioners.

Selma police announced the investigation early Wednesday saying more than 100 air conditioning units have been stolen or damaged in the last year.

“These events have cost property owners thousands of dollars in repairs,” police officials said.
