Alabama Skies: Weather system bringing strong winds throughout the state

If you’re planning on doing any burning outdoors Tuesday, that probably wouldn’t be a good idea.
An approaching storm system is bringing some very strong winds with some of us having gusts up to 40 miles per hour, nearly tropical storm strength.
We’ve also adjusted Wednesday’s forecast some. Even though we still believe the severe weather is staying well north of our state, we are expecting rain to reach into central and southern Alabama now.
North Alabama
Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a couple of showers. High 75 with wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour. Cloudy Tuesday night with a low of 56. Wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
Central Alabama
Mostly cloudy with a high of 78. Wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. Tuesday night, mostly cloudy with a low of 64. Wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
South Alabama
Mostly cloudy with a high of 81. Wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. Overnight, mostly cloudy with a low of 66. Breezy.
Gulf Coast
Partly sunny with a high of 76. Wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy overnight with a low of 64. Wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
