Alabama man killed during police chase when he loses control of motorcycle, state troopers say

An Alabama man who was reportedly fleeing a sheriff’s deputy was killed last week after he lost control of his motorcycle during the chase and was thrown from the motorcycle, Alabama state police said.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1 a.m., Feb. 16, and claimed the life of a Jasper man.
Anthony R. Miles, 50, was fatally injured when he lost control and was thrown from the 2006 Suzuki GSX R1000 Motorcycle he was operating. Miles was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Miles was attempting to elude a Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy at the time of the crash.
After the initial crash, the motorcycle was struck by the 2021 Dodge Charger driven by a deputy assigned to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred on Interstate 22 near the 52 mile marker, approximately 10 miles west of Jasper.
