An Alabama mother and daughter have been arrested after investigators said they made up details about a home invasion and shooting.
Mother Wendy Ralston, 46, and her daughter Destynee Cheshire, 24, have been both charged with assault and Ralston also has been charged with falsifying a report to police.
Deputies in Calhoun County were called to a shooting on February 6 on Pattiway Drive in Alexandria.
Ralston told deputies that she had been assaulted by Scott Ingram at the home, escaped and later returned with her daughter in an attempt to locate Ingram. Ralston had a protective order against Ingram.
Investigators, however, said the evidence doesn’t match Ralston’s story. They believe despite having a protective order, Ralston was allowing her ex to stay in the house with her and that the two were having a secretive relationship.
Ralston, investigators said, told falsehoods to her daughter about Ingram, which led to her shooting Ingram.
